The Practice was formed by Gavin Johnson BSc (Hons) MRICS and Celia Johnson BA (Hons) in 2011 following a career spanning 30 years in the construction industry both in the UK and abroad. The Practice is seeking to embrace a new dynamic in moving the role of the Project Manager and Cost Consultant forward and maintain and enhance their pivotal role in the Client / Design Team within the construction industry.
This has resulted in core principles where the Clients’ requirements are of paramount importance and good quality, precise advice is provided in a timely and economic manner. With our extensive experience at all levels and sectors of the industry, we are able to provide a broad range of advice, whether it be from an individual unit rate for a small operation to alternative procurement route advice for a multi-million-pound city centre mixed use scheme. This breadth of knowledge enables us to be comfortable in any environment be it from, chairing a site meeting, visiting a sub-contractor’s workshop, or preparing and presenting a project progress report to a Client’s Board.
Since formation, the Practice has helped a number of key Clients develop their businesses. This includes, the expansion of a now prevalent student accommodation provider, Student Roost, from inception through to a business with in excess of 17,000 beds, assisting a number volume housebuilders including Bellway Homes, Redrow Homes, and Linden Homes with the design and delivery of complex mixed use projects, and the provision of bespoke Project Management services to deliver detailed planning approvals on large complex sites, such as Gallions Quarter in the London Docklands which achieved consent for 800+ residential units.
